Day 88 - 30/07/2007
Monday
We had a routine meeting today with the Portuguese police. Kate
and I are confident that every avenue is being explored and the vital piece of
information that leads to Madeleine is only a phone call away.
This is the last time we
will have met the Consul General in a professional capacity, as he retires
tomorrow and will be returning to the UK. Bill has provided us with
consular support since day 1 and, naturally, he got to know us very well during
the last 3 months. He has said that Madeleines abduction is the most tragic
circumstance he has had to deal with. Without doubt Bill has given us excellent
support and we wish him and his wife a very happy retirement
